OUR STORY
Patisserie Lenox is a family-run French pastry shop and café rooted in tradition, craft, and a love of gathering around good food.
At its heart is executive pastry chef Jean Yves, whose career spans more than four decades. A graduate of the renowned Ecole Jean Ferrandi in Paris, he trained in some of Europe’s finest bakeries before bringing his craft to New York City. There, he spent eight years at the celebrated restaurant La Grenouille, creating desserts daily for an exacting and distinguished clientele.
Over the years, his work has been enjoyed by notable figures including Julia Child, Paul Newman, Ralph Lauren, and many others, and his kitchens have produced pastries and desserts for presidential flights and international dignitaries. He later founded and expanded a successful patisserie business on Long Island, supplying both retail shops and major European airlines.

Seeking a slower, more meaningful pace of life, Jean Yves and his wife Yulia found their way to the Berkshires. Together, they created Patisserie Lenox — not only as a pastry shop, but as a welcoming café where guests could linger over coffee, tea, and thoughtfully prepared food. The business quickly expanded to Great Barrington, Hudson, and Northampton, but has since been pared back, creating a single cozy space for the celebration of truly impeccable food.
Today, only the flagship Lenox location, at the heart of the business, remains. Jean Yves leads the pastry kitchen, while Yulia oversees the café and savory menu, bringing her own creativity to soups, breakfast, and lunch offerings made with fresh, often locally sourced ingredients.
Together with their family, they continue to create a space where French pastry tradition meets everyday warmth — a place to gather, celebrate, and return to again and again.
What People Are Saying
“Like stepping into a Paris pastry shop! While we had a hard time deciding what to treat ourselves to, what we had was out of this world great! I don't think you could go wrong on any choice. The French style hot chocolate is NOT to be missed.”

“What a great find! We stumbled across Patisserie Lenox while on vacation last week. It was a chilly day so we popped in to check it out and stayed for lunch, which was delicious. We had a butternut soup that was made with apple cider and a creme fraiche which was one of the best soups I'd had in many a moon. And with it came a decadent to die for spinach and feta croissant. It's worth getting a cup of tea just to experience the flavorful fresh tea leaves they bag themselves and hold together with a wooden handle that rests on the cup. Very cool. We took home a chocolate croissant and a chocolate and almond croissant to have for breakfast the next day which rivaled any I've had in the past.”

“Love this bakery! Great if you want to indulge in a personal treat, the best cakes made to order decorated beautifully. The almond croissant is heavenly, should I go on?”
